Engadget has published a series of reviews on new tech products, including Apple’s iPhone Duo and Rivian’s R2 SUV. The reviews cover various devices, reflecting the urgency of tech releases.
The iPhone Duo, Apple’s first folding phone, has generated significant interest. Despite being heavy and expensive, it offers a refined experience with fewer initial issues than anticipated. Sam Rutherford, senior reviews reporter, noted, “The company had the luxury to learn from its competitors’ accomplishments and missteps,” suggesting Apple avoided typical initial pitfalls.
Rivian’s R2 SUV impressed Rutherford during his test drive. He found it spacious and powerful, complete with an attractive interior. While he recommends waiting for the base model next year, he remarked, “Rivian is proving that just because an electric SUV is smaller and more affordable, that doesn’t mean it has to make major trade-offs to its style, power and tech.” He described the R2 as a potential option for families considering an electric vehicle.
In addition to these products, Engadget also reviewed the Ray-Ban Meta Audio glasses, which provide audio features without the distraction of cameras. Karissa Bell expressed her appreciation for their normal appearance, stating, “One of my favorite things about the Ray-Ban Meta Audio glasses is just how ‘normal’ they look and feel.”
Technics also debuted its A1000 over-ear headphones, building on the success of their AZ100 earbuds. Despite a premium price of $450, James Trew praised the sound quality and comfort while mentioning a significant feature’s reliability issue.
AUSTech’s ProArt P16 laptop, powered by NVIDIA’s new RTX Spark chip, is another highlight. However, Devindra Hardawar warned that its steep price makes it suitable primarily for AI professionals, stating, “The ASUS ProArt P16 is an impressive premium laptop, undoubtedly.” He advised waiting before considering it for general use.
