New Delhi : According to the official sources, it has been said that Ministry of Finance has asked Telecommunication Department to re-evaluate the revival proposals for the telecom majors MTNL and BSNL and present it to government after general elections.
In April, 2019, the DoT(Department of Telecommunications) circulated a draft cabinet note for revival of the two telecom major companies among different ministries.
In revival plan of these two major companies, the asset sale off process, 4G allocation and Voluntary Retirement Schemes are major issues. The assets transfer procedure will be carried out by Department of Investment and Public Asset Management or Department of Telecommunications. .Both the companies have asked for 4G allocation through infusion of more equity and want Gujarat model of VRS(voluntary service scheme).
