Power stocks shine as India plans to add 500 GW renewable energy by 2030

Power stocks were trading higher on the bourses with the government’s statement that India plans to add 500 gigawatts (GW) of renewable energy to its electricity grid by 2030, in a bid to clean up air in its cities and increase the share of renewables in its electricity grid.

Tata Power Company is currently trading at Rs. 69.30, up by 3.15 points or 4.76% from its previous closing of Rs. 66.15 on the BSE. The scrip opened at Rs. 66.95 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 69.45 and Rs. 66.80 respectively. So far 329947 shares were traded on the counter.

NTPC is currently trading at Rs. 140.85, up by 1.95 points or 1.40% from its previous closing of Rs. 138.90 on the BSE. The scrip opened at Rs. 140.00 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 141.95 and Rs. 139.55 respectively. So far 272583 shares were traded on the counter.

PTC India is currently trading at Rs. 66.90, up by 1.30 points or 1.98% from its previous closing of Rs. 65.60 on the BSE. The scrip opened at Rs. 65.70 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 67.30 and Rs. 65.40 respectively. So far 180652 shares were traded on the counter.
