Income Tax MTS Arrested in Jaipur for Taking ₹10,000 Bribe

Jaipur, October 15 (Udaipur Kiran): The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB), Jaipur Nagar-III Unit, has arrested Vishnu Parik, an MTS (Multi-Tasking Staff) posted in Income Tax Department, Jaipur Range-I, for accepting a bribe of ₹10,000 in cash. The trap was carried out under the supervision of the ACB Headquarters, Jaipur.

Income Tax Department bribery case

According to Smita Srivastava, Additional Director General of Police, ACB, a written complaint was received alleging that the accused, Vishnu Parik, demanded a bribe of ₹15,000 from the complainant. The complainant stated that his firm, Saket Gems, was entitled to an income tax refund of ₹58 lakh as per an order passed by the Income Tax Appellate Tribunal, Jaipur, in June 2024 for the assessment year 2014–15.

Out of the total refund, ₹40 lakh had already been released by the department, while the remaining amount was withheld due to an ongoing appeal. The accused allegedly demanded ₹15,000 in exchange for facilitating the release of the remaining refund.

During verification proceedings, Parik was found to have already accepted ₹5,000 as part payment. Based on this evidence, a trap operation was organized on October 15, 2025, under the supervision of DIG (Second) Jaipur Anand Sharma and leadership of Additional SP Gyan Prakash Naval, assisted by Deputy SP Suresh Kumar Swami and the ACB Jaipur Nagar-III team.

During the operation, Vishnu Parik was caught red-handed while accepting ₹10,000 from the complainant.

The accused has been detained for questioning, and further investigation is underway. The ACB has registered a case under the relevant provisions of the Prevention of Corruption Act and is continuing the probe.
