Hindustan Zinc gains on recording underground mined metal production at 936kt in FY19

Udaipur : Hindustan Zinc is currently trading at Rs. 284.00, up by 2.35 points or 0.83% from its previous closing of Rs. 281.65 on the BSE. The scrip opened at Rs. 281.00 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 284.75 and Rs. 281.00 respectively. So far 5957 shares were traded on the counter. The BSE group ‘A’ stock of face value Rs. 2 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 336.35 on 19-Apr-2018 and a 52 week low of Rs. 243.00 on 01-Feb-2019.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 289.25 and Rs. 268.40 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 119576.53 crore. The promoters holding in the company stood at 64.92%, while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 33.52% and 1.56% respectively. Hindustan Zinc has recorded underground mined metal production at 936kt during full year ended March 31, 2019, up by 29% y-o-y. The total mined metal production was down by 1% y-o-y, post closure of open cast operations.

Further, lead metal production stood at 198kt, up by 18% y-o-y, while refined silver production stood at 679 tonnes, up by 22% y-o-y. Hindustan Zinc, the world’s second biggest zinc producer, operates the world’s third largest open-pit mine, and world’s largest Zinc Mine in Rampura Agucha, Rajasthan.
