Ashok Leyland slips on reporting 19% fall in June sales

Ashok Leyland is currently trading at Rs. 87.20, down by 0.05 points or 0.06% from its previous closing of Rs. 87.25 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 87.40 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 88.55 and Rs. 86.65 respectively. So far 423891 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group ‘A’ stock of face value Rs. 1 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 137.00 on 12-Jul-2018 and a 52 week low of Rs. 77.50 on 18-Feb-2019.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 89.80 and Rs. 84.85 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 25729.90 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 51.12%, while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 29.14% and 19.74% respectively.

Ashok Leyland has reported a fall of 19% in June 2019 sales (Domestic + Exports) to 12810 units, as against 15792 units sold in the same month of last year. The company reported a decline of 25% in its medium and heavy commercial vehicle (M&HCV) products segment to 8427 units in June 2019, as compared to 11258 units sold in June 2018.

The light commercial vehicle (LCV) segment of the company registered sales of 4305 units in June 2019, a fall of 4%, as compared to 4475 units sold in June 2018.

Ashok Leyland, the Hinduja Group flagship company in India, is engaged in the manufacturing of commercial vehicles and related components. The company’s products include buses, trucks, engines, defense and special vehicles.
