5G services will start soon in the country: PM Modi

New Delhi : On the 76th anniversary of India’s independence, Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced that new generation 5G services will be available in the country soon. Addressing the countrymen from the ramparts of the Red Fort, the Prime Minister also emphasised the importance of ‘Made-in-India’ technology solutions to the challenges of New India.

The Prime Minister on Monday said that this technology decade (TEKD) belongs to India. Digital technology is going to bring improvements in every field. He said that the ‘take’ of India has arrived. Modi said that with 5G, semiconductor manufacturing, and optical fibre cable (OFC) in villages, we are bringing a revolution at the grassroots level through Digital India.

Addressing the gathering, Modi said that the Digital India campaign shows its potential in three areas, namely education, healthcare, and transforming the lives of the common man. On the occasion of Independence Day, the Prime Minister told the countrymen that in the last eight years, through the use of Aadhaar, Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) and mobile phones, we have been able to channel Rs 2 lakh crore which used to go into the wrong hands for the betterment of the people. Huh.
