Bank strike on March 28-29

Aurangabad, Mar 25 : All central trade ons except the Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh (BMS) have called a nationwide strike of banks on March 28 and 29 to oppose the new four labour codes and to oppose largescale privatisation of public sector entities. on leader Devidas Tuljapurkar said in a statement that presently the government and private sector entities, instead of filling in permanent vacancies, were often resorting to outsourcing and contractual system to exploit labour. The ons are also demanding the old pension scheme. In the banking industry, the AIBEA, AIBOA and BEFI have called the strike and around 500,000 bank employees and officers will be joining. The ons fear that the government may move The Banking Companies Amendments Act 2021 at any time to pursue their announcement of privatization of two public sector banks. Employees from old generation private sector banks, some foreign banks, Gramin banks and cooperative banks are also joining the strike.
