Mumbai, March 14 : The BSE Sensex on Monday gained 166 pts at 55,716.58 in opening session following gains in IT, Telecom, Bankex and Technology stocks. The Nifty too rose 43.50 pts at 16,673.95. The sensex registered days high and low at 55,868.92 and 55,556.47 pts respectively. The Nifty registered days high and low at 16,702.55 and 16,606.50 pts respectively. The Mid Cap declined 0.65 pc and Small Cap rose by 0.16 pc. In 30 scrips, 16 advanced while 14 declined. The gainers were HDFC Bank by 2.22 pc to Rs 1427.95, Infosys by 2.20 pc to Rs 1862.30, Wipro by 1.28 pc to Rs 593.70, ICICI Bank by 1.11 pc to Rs 685.55 and SBI by 0.85 pc to Rs 474.40. The losers were Hind lever by 2.14 pc to Rs 2050, Bajaj finance by 1.70 pc to Rs 6514.75, Tata Steel by 1.16 pc to Rs 1286.30 and M& M by 1.03 pc to Rs 728.15. NV GNK
