Vedanta inches up on the bourses

Vedanta is currently trading at Rs. 166.05, up by 0.60 points or 0.36% from its previous closing of Rs. 165.45 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 165.50 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 167.10 and Rs. 165.05 respectively. So far 31044 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group ‘A’ stock of face value Rs. 1 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 270.65 on 22-May-2018 and a 52 week low of Rs. 145.90 on 15-Feb-2019.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 168.60 and Rs. 155.90 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 61500.98 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 50.14%, while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 35.15% and 10.69% respectively.

Vedanta has been declared as the preferred bidder for two copper mines in Maharashtra. The copper blocks, namely Thanewasna and Dubarpeth, are in Chandrapur district of Maharashtra.

The government of Maharashtra had invited bids for grant of two copper composite licenses (prospecting license cum mining leases) on February 1, 2019 through e-auction. The company participated in the forward e-auction and after being technically qualified has been declared as the preferred bidder for these two blocks.

Vedanta is a diversified natural resources company, whose business primarily involves producing oil and gas, zinc- lead-silver, copper, iron ore, aluminium and commercial power.
