Tata Harrier EV: Higher Variants to Be Priced Aggressively, AWD Trim Promises Premium Features

Tata Motors has officially launched its highly anticipated all-electric flagship SUV, the Tata Harrier EV, in India at an introductory price of ₹21.49 lakh (ex-showroom). While this base variant already boasts an impressive list of features, Tata has confirmed that higher trims will be priced aggressively as well, signaling value-packed options for premium electric SUV buyers.

Aggressive Pricing Strategy for Top Variants

In a recent statement, Vivek Srivatsa, Chief Commercial Officer of Tata Passenger Electric Mobility (TPEM), confirmed that the company will reveal the prices for the higher variants before the end of June. He emphasized that the pricing strategy across the range—including the much-talked-about Quad Wheel Drive (QWD) variant—will remain competitive and “equally exciting.” This signals Tata’s clear intention to undercut rivals in the premium electric SUV segment while delivering top-tier tech and performance.

All-Wheel Drive Returns to Tata’s Lineup

One of the most notable highlights of the Harrier EV is its QWD (Quad Wheel Drive) system—Tata’s version of AWD—with dual motors mounted on each axle. The setup delivers all-wheel-drive capability, making it ideal for both urban and off-road conditions. The Harrier EV thus becomes the first Tata EV with AWD, setting a new benchmark in the company’s electrification journey.

Srivatsa added, “This is going to give a lot of enjoyment in terms of power, stability and off-road performance—it’s not just another electric SUV; it’s an experience.”

Tech-Loaded Flagship with Best-in-Class Range

The Tata Harrier EV offers a claimed range of up to 627 km on a single charge, thanks to its 75 kWh battery pack. The vehicle is also one of the first Indian EVs to offer EV-specific features like:

  • Vehicle-to-Load (V2L): Power household devices directly from the car

  • Vehicle-to-Vehicle (V2V): Share charge between two EVs

  • Auto Park Assist: Semi-autonomous parking technology

  • Digital Key: Unlock and start the vehicle with a smartphone

  • EV Charging Payments: Built-in payment system via the infotainment screen

Segment-Leading Infotainment and Safety Features

The Harrier EV also elevates in-cabin tech, featuring:

  • A 14.5-inch QLED touchscreen infotainment system

  • A 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster with embedded navigation

  • Dual-zone automatic climate control

  • Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto

  • Panoramic sunroof

  • Multi-color ambient lighting

  • Wireless phone charger

On the safety front, Tata has equipped the Harrier EV with:

  • 7 airbags

  • 360-degree surround view camera

  • Blind spot monitoring

  • Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS)

  • Electronic Stability Program (ESP)

  • Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS)

  • Rear parking sensors

Off-Road Ready with Terrain Modes

Further enhancing its capability, the Harrier EV includes six terrain modes, an off-road assist feature, and specially calibrated software to manage torque delivery across all four wheels—ideal for both rugged trails and slippery urban roads.
